​The Handsworth Student Spotlight (HSS) Award, formerly known as the Royal Recognition Award, is awarded to individuals or groups of students who have expressed their passions and demonstrated the qualities of the school's mission statement.  Students can be nominated for excellence in the following areas: clubs, out-of-school athletics, community accomplishments, leadership, and extracurriculars (in or out of school).  The deadline to nominate a person or group by completing the form in the Student Council Instagram is Friday, April 21st, 2023 by 3 pm.​​
